Imagine sitting in a circle in a low-lit room, the only illumination provided by the candles of countless menorahs. In that setting, we’ll be reading “Tales of Abundance, Tales of Want” which are folktales about food and the anxiety of never-enough. The stores are taken from the Hebrew Bible, New Testament, Holocaust cookbooks, immigrant memoir recipes and various cultures.
What a way to close this year’s Hanukkah celebration. Be sure to bring your own menorah and candles your children, your family and perhaps even your neighbors.
