Social Action Community Mitzvah Day

The Social Action Committee is organizing a Community Mitzvah Day in honor of TCS's 20th anniversary. We invite members, family and friends to sign up and participate as we lend our hands and hearts in service to our local community.

Please sign up to volunteer at one of the following locations by emailing Be prepared for 2 hours of service followed by light food, refreshments and merriment back at TCS.

There are several organizations who will be participating in this event with Synagogue members. They are:

  • Equine Advocates: Outdoor Volunteering (Fence and Barn Painting)

Equine Advocates is a national non-profit 501(c)(3) equine protection organization founded in 1996. Since that time, Equine Advocates has rescued thousands of equines, including horses, ponies, donkeys and mules from slaughter, abuse and neglect. They have grown significantly over the years with a small but energetic and compassionate staff. Equine Advocates Rescue & Sanctuary has truly become a haven for horses. It is an equine village where horses get to live out their lives in a natural environment that allows them to socialize with each other. The 80+ equines who reside here receive lots of TLC. Most were slaughter-bound and/or came from abusive situations and have surely earned their retirement here at the sanctuary.
